Get an email when an import finishes
Migratify can email you when an import finishes, so you don't have to keep the Import page open to see how it went. The email tells you whether every product came in, only some did, or none did.
Turn on import emails
- Open Migratify and go to the Settings page.
- Under Notifications, pick an option from the Import finished emails dropdown.
- Optional: type a different address in Notification email. Leave it empty to use your store email.
- Click Save. You'll see "Notification settings saved".
The emails are off until you turn them on. The Notification email field only unlocks after you pick an option other than Off.
Which imports send an email
| Option | You get an email |
|---|---|
| Off | Never (this is the default) |
| Every import | After every import |
| Imports of 500+ products | Only for imports of 500 or more products |
| Imports of 2,000+ products | Only for imports of 2,000 or more products |
| Imports of 5,000+ products | Only for imports of 5,000 or more products |
The size options are handy for big catalog imports, so small test imports don't fill your inbox.
What the email tells you
- Your import finished: every product was imported.
- Your import finished with some issues: some products came in and some didn't, for example "3 of 5 products". The ones that failed usually point to a source page that is unavailable, blocked, or not a product page.
- Your import didn't complete: none of the products could be imported, or Migratify couldn't find any products at the URLs you entered.
Each email has an Open Migratify button. Imported products can take a few minutes to appear in your Shopify admin after the email arrives.
Good to know
- No email is sent for an import you stop with Stop migration, or for products imported with the Chrome extension.
- The counts in the email match the progress bar on the Import page.
- To stop the emails, set Import finished emails back to Off and click Save.
- Products missing after an "issues" email? See Import is slow or products are not appearing, and check your import history.
