Import from protected websites with the Chrome extension

Some websites, like Shopee and AliExpress, protect their pages with captchas or logins, so Migratify can't fetch them directly. The Migratify Chrome extension imports these products straight from your browser instead.

The extension also works for Temu, Shein, and other protected websites.

Set up the extension

1. In Migratify, go to the Extension page.
2. Click Install now to open the Migratify Chrome extension in the Chrome Web Store, then add it to Chrome.
3. Back on the Extension page, copy your Extension app key. This key connects the extension to your Migratify account.
4. Open the extension in Chrome and paste the key when asked.

Keep your app key private. If you think someone else has it, click the regenerate button next to the key field to create a new one, then update it in the extension.

Import a product

1. In Chrome, open the product page you want to import (log in or pass the captcha as usual).
2. Click the Migratify extension icon.
3. Optionally pick a collection so the product is added to it after import. Only manual collections appear here (automated collections are managed by Shopify rules). You can search by name and clear the choice if you change your mind.
4. Optionally set Magic edit, Price multiplier, whether the product should be active, and shipping, tax, or inventory tracking, then click Import product.
5. Before the extension captures the page, Migratify checks that your app key is valid and that your plan still allows the import (and Magic Edit credits, if you set a prompt). If something blocks the import, you see the error right away and the page is not captured.
6. The product appears in Migratify and imports into your Shopify store like any other product.

Images from the extension

The extension does not change which images get picked. It reads the same product data as a normal URL import, starting with structured product data (JSON-LD) when the site provides it.

Some sites list only a small thumbnail in that data and keep the full-size pictures in the page gallery. Migratify now also reads the full-size gallery, and when the same picture is published in several sizes it keeps the largest copy. For example, PrestaShop stores that used to import a small thumbnail now bring in their full-size gallery images.

Vevor products also come in at full size (1600px) now, instead of the 300px copy, whether you import them with the extension or by URL. Products you imported before this fix are not updated automatically, so re-import them to get the full-size photos.

If a product still arrives with only a small image, replace it under Media on the product in Shopify admin, and message us from the chat widget with the product URL so we can look into it.

Sizes and colours on modern product pages

Some stores (for example Dior and similar sites) only put size or colour options into the page when you open the picker. The extension briefly opens those pickers before it captures the page, so Migratify can import the variants. You do not need to open them yourself. Sites that already show sizes on the page are unchanged.
