Import is slow or products are not appearing

Imports run on Migratify's servers and publish products to your store in the background. Most finish quickly, but large catalogs take time. Here's what to check when products seem missing.

Checks

  1. Give it a few minutes. Products can keep appearing in your Shopify admin for a while after the progress bar completes, especially on large imports.
  2. Check the product status. If Set product as active was off in your Import settings, products were created as drafts. In your Shopify admin, go to Products and filter by Draft.
  3. Look for a variant limit banner. If Migratify shows "Shopify variant creation limit reached", the import is paused by Shopify's daily limit. See Shopify variant creation limit reached.
  4. Check the import wasn't stopped. A stopped import only creates the products it finished. Check Import history and re-run the URL if needed.
  5. One import at a time. If you started a second import while the first was running, it was blocked. Wait for the current import to finish.

Closing the browser never cancels an import; only the Stop migration button does.
