Changelog

New features, improvements, and fixes in Migratify.

# Fix: Magic Edit tags and titles now use the product description

  • Generate product tags and Improve title in Magic Edit now read the product description, so tags and titles match the product. Before, tags could fail with a message saying the product had no description even when it had one.
  • The description itself is not changed.
  • If a product really has no description, you see a clear message naming the product, for example: "Blue Shirt" has no description, so product tags could not be generated.

See Edit products with AI using Magic Edit.

# Get your extension key straight from Home

  • The Import from protected websites card on Home now has a Get your extension key button, next to Watch tutorial.
  • It opens the Extension page with your Extension app key, so you no longer need to find Extension in the Shopify sidebar.
  • Available in every app language: English, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

See Import from protected websites with the Chrome extension.

# Large imports publish reliably when Shopify rate limits

  • Large imports now publish reliably when Shopify is rate limiting your store. Migratify waits briefly and tries again, so products are no longer silently skipped.
  • Products are now assigned to your sales channels correctly after a short Shopify interruption, instead of being left without a channel.

# Fix: publishing timed out when a site blocked its images

  • Products from sites that block every image download (for example wilko.com) used to time out and fail to publish. Migratify now stops retrying that site's images and sends them to Shopify as they are, so the product still publishes. Some of those images may be missing.
  • A publish that is retried after a slow first attempt no longer creates the same product twice.

See Import is slow or products are not appearing.

# Migratify support email is now migratify@mail.ragchatai.com

  • Merchant-facing support contacts (privacy policy, banned-shop Contact support, and replies to import-finished emails) now use migratify@mail.ragchatai.com.
  • In-app chat still works the same way from the chat widget.

# Fix: imported products keep the source weight

  • Website imports now carry the source product's weight and unit into Shopify instead of landing at 0.0 kg.
  • Weight comes from the page when available (including structured data). Negative weights are dropped so Shopify won't reject the product.
  • See What product data does Migratify import?.

# Fix: failed imports no longer use Free plan quota

  • Only products that successfully land in Shopify count toward the Free plan's 5-product limit and Products imported on Home.
  • Import history now settles to Finished, Partial, or Failed (not always Finished).
  • Failed shows in red and Partial in yellow. Settled rows show how many products landed.
  • See View your import history and "You have reached the free plan limit".

# Fix: products keep all variants when compare-at price is invalid

  • Bad or missing compare-at prices (negative, zero, or at/below the price) no longer drop extra variants during import.
  • Migratify removes the bad compare-at value and keeps every variant Shopify accepts.
  • Import history may show a Compare-at price removed or Some variants weren't created warning on the row.
  • See View your import history.

# Fix: Shopify store import shows a clear error when a fetch fails

  • When Migratify can't reach a product URL during a Shopify store import, you get a clear message instead of a blank server error.
  • Retries and validation keep working the same way.

# Fix: product preview no longer crashes on odd scraped prices

  • Import preview no longer fails when a scraped price comes back as an invalid number.
  • Those values are treated as blank (price 0) so you can still preview and import the product.

# Fix: images from Cloudflare-protected sites import reliably

  • Products from sites that block image fetches (for example with Cloudflare) no longer end up with empty images or "Media processing failed".
  • Migratify re-hosts those images so Shopify can fetch them, for URL imports and the Chrome extension.
  • If an earlier import skipped images, re-run the product URL. See Import is slow or products are not appearing.

# Fix: Vevor imports bring in full-size photos

  • Vevor products now import with their full-size 1600px photos instead of 300px copies, by URL or with the Chrome extension.
  • Products imported before this fix aren't updated automatically. Re-import them to get the full-size photos.

See Import from protected websites with the Chrome extension.

# Get an email when an import finishes

  • Migratify can now email you when an import finishes, with how many products came in and how many couldn't be imported.
  • Turn it on under Settings → Notifications with Import finished emails: every import, or only imports of 500+, 2,000+, or 5,000+ products. It's off by default.
  • Send it to your store email or any Notification email you choose.

See Get an email when an import finishes.

# Fix: imports bring in full-size gallery images instead of a small thumbnail

  • Some sites (PrestaShop stores, for example) list only a small thumbnail in their product data. Migratify now also reads the full-size gallery, so imported products get the large images.
  • When a site publishes the same picture in several sizes, Migratify keeps the largest copy.
  • Applies to URL imports and the Chrome extension. More in Import from protected websites with the Chrome extension.

# Fix: start a new import right after one that ended with failed products

  • Before, an import where some products failed could keep showing "The last import is still in progress" and block your next import until our daily cleanup cleared it.
  • Now an import that ended with failed products counts as finished, so you can start the next one right away. The progress bar and Stop migration follow the same rule.
  • More in Import is slow or products are not appearing.

# Import URL validation shows the specific failure reason

  • When a product URL fails validation, Migratify now shows a clear reason under the field (own store, wrong page type, blocked request, removed listing, and more) instead of only "Unable to validate the URL".
  • See Product URL won't validate for what each message means.

# Fix: deleted Shopify products with empty error pages no longer stall imports

  • Shopify sometimes answers a deleted product page with an empty 404 (or 401/410). Migratify now treats those as not found, skips that product, and keeps the rest of the import running.
  • See Import is slow or products are not appearing.

# Fix: Magic Edit no longer silently skips products when AI times out

  • When Magic Edit's AI provider hangs or times out, Migratify falls back to another provider inside the time budget.
  • Products with multi-step Magic Edit prompts are far less likely to be silently skipped with a finished-looking import.
