Changelog

New features, improvements, and fixes in Migratify.

# Chrome extension captures sizes from JS-rendered pickers

  • The Migratify Chrome extension now expands JS-rendered size and colour pickers (common on sites like Dior) before it captures the page, so variants are included in the import.
  • You do not need to open those pickers yourself. Pages that already show sizes in the HTML are unchanged.

Details: Import from protected websites with the Chrome extension

# Fix: Shopify imports skip deleted products; Amazon imports retry temporary blocks

  • When importing from Shopify, products whose source page is gone (deleted or returns a not-found error) are skipped so the rest of the import can finish.
  • Amazon imports wait and retry when a temporary proxy block hits, instead of failing after many quick retries.
  • See Import is slow or products are not appearing.

# Fix: more reliable product image imports when a proxy fails

# Fix: one failed product no longer cancels the whole import

  • If one product fails or has no source data, the rest of the import keeps running instead of cancelling the whole batch.
  • Re-run a missing product URL on its own if you still need it.
  • See Import is slow or products are not appearing.

# Fix: product publishes stalling on Shopify CDN images

  • Product publishes no longer stall or fail when Migratify re-checks Shopify CDN images.
  • Images already on cdn.shopify.com pass straight through, and long publishes stop getting handed to a second worker by mistake.
  • If an earlier import left products stuck or incomplete, re-run the product URL. See Import is slow or products are not appearing.

# Fix: imported images rejected when the file type did not match the URL

  • Some image CDNs answer a .png or .jpg URL with WebP or AVIF bytes. Shopify then rejected the upload ("File extension doesn't match the format of the file").
  • Migratify now reads the real file format from the image bytes and only requests types Shopify accepts.
  • Re-run the product URL if images were missing on an earlier import. See Import is slow or products are not appearing.

# The home page finishes loading sooner

  • The tutorial cards on the home page hold the biggest images Migratify draws. They now start downloading the moment the page opens, instead of queueing up behind everything else.
  • Those images also come from our global asset network now rather than a single server, so they arrive quickly wherever your store is based.
  • Coming back to Migratify later in the day no longer re-downloads the app itself. Your browser keeps it, so return visits open close to instantly.
  • This builds on the speed work from earlier this month. Nothing changed in how you use the app.

# Migratify paints as soon as it opens

  • Every page used to open, then sit on a loading skeleton while it fetched your store details. Those details now come down with the page itself, so there is nothing to wait for.
  • That takes roughly another second off opening the app, on top of the two seconds saved earlier this month.
  • Nothing changed in how you use the app.

# Migratify opens faster from the Shopify admin

  • Opening Migratify from your Shopify admin used to load two extra pages before the app itself appeared. It now opens straight away, which takes close to two seconds off every load.
  • Nothing changed in how you use the app. Pages just show up sooner.

# Faster page loads in the Migratify admin

  • Migratify's styles now load alongside the app instead of from inside it, so pages appear noticeably faster when you open the app.
  • The loading placeholder now matches the page you are opening (Home, Import, Pricing, Extension, or Settings), so content no longer jumps into a different layout once the page is ready.
  • The Recent imports list and the partner apps card hold their place while they load, so the cards below them stop shifting down.
