Chat widget not appearing on my store
You installed RagChat but there is no chat launcher on your storefront. Work through these checks in order; the first one fixes it for most stores.
1. Check the app embed is enabled
The widget only loads when the RagChat app embed is turned on in your published theme.
- Open RagChat. On the Home page, look at the widget status card.
- If it says Activate your chat widget with a Not active badge, click Activate widget. Your Shopify theme editor opens with the RagChat embed selected.
- Turn the embed on and click Save in the theme editor.
- Back in RagChat, click Re-check. The card should switch to Your chat widget is live.
2. Check you enabled it on the right theme
The embed must be enabled on your published theme. If you turned it on while previewing a draft theme, your live storefront still will not have it. In Shopify, go to Online Store → Themes, click Customize on the published theme, open App embeds, and make sure RagChat is on there.
3. Reload without cache
Your browser may be showing a cached copy of your storefront. Do a hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows) or open the store in a private window.
4. Check for theme conflicts
Rarely, another app or a custom theme hides the corner of the page where the launcher sits. Try switching the widget to the other corner in Settings → Widget (change Position) and check again.
