A few notes on the limits:

  • The product limit is how many of your products the AI learns for recommendations and answers. Your store policies and collections are always read live and do not count against any limit.
  • Knowledge sources are the URLs, files, and Shopify pages you add yourself in the Knowledge base. On the Free plan you cannot add these, but the AI still learns your products, policies, and collections.
  • The AI detects and replies in your shopper's language on every plan. Auto-translate is about translating conversations for you in the inbox. See Translate conversations into your language.

Change your plan

  1. Open RagChat and go to Pricing.
  2. Pick a plan and click Choose plan.
  3. Paid plans are billed through Shopify, so Shopify asks you to approve the charge. Approve it and you are done.

Standard and Pro both come with a 14 day free trial, and you can cancel any time during the trial without being charged.

How billing works

Shopify handles the payment side of RagChat. We never see your card details and we never charge you directly.

  • Your subscription is charged to the same payment method as your Shopify bill, and it appears on your regular Shopify invoice.
  • Paid plans run on 30 day cycles, not calendar months. A plan you start on August 1 renews on August 31.
  • Each cycle is paid at the start, so you are always paying for the 30 days ahead.
  • Moving between two paid plans mid cycle is prorated by Shopify. Upgrading charges you the difference for the days left in the cycle, and downgrading credits you the difference.

Cancel or downgrade

  1. Go to Pricing.
  2. Click Downgrade on the plan you want to move to. Pick Free to cancel your paid plan.
  3. Confirm in the dialog. RagChat warns you first: "You may lose access to some features."

The change happens immediately. Your paid plan stops right away and your store moves to the new plan's limits, so there is no refund for the days left in the cycle. You have already paid for the full 30 days.

That works in your favor if you change your mind. Resubscribe before the cycle ends and you are not charged twice. Say you subscribe on August 1 and cancel on August 15. Come back on August 25 and you keep the plan for the rest of the cycle at no extra cost. Your next charge is on August 31, when the cycle would have renewed anyway.

Uninstalling RagChat cancels the subscription as well. Shopify stops the charges automatically.

What you keep when you downgrade

You keep everything that fits inside the new plan's limits. If you have more knowledge sources or products than the new plan allows, the extras are removed or stop syncing.
