Changelog

New features, improvements, and fixes in Edify Help Center.

# Schedule waits for the preview, and History shows Auto-revert time

# Unsaved Bulk Edit drafts are restored after a reload

  • If you switch tabs, reload the app, or leave Bulk Edit and come back, Edify restores your unsaved filters and actions.
  • You'll see We restored your unsaved bulk edit. with a Start over button when that happens.
  • See Make your first bulk edit.

# New: Turn Charge tax on or off for variants in bulk

  • With Variants selected, Charge tax is now in the Field list. Its Operation is Set to value, and Value is Yes or No.
  • You can also filter variants by Charge tax: is or is not, then Yes or No. For example, Charge tax is Yes finds variants that charge tax now. It works with AND and OR.
  • The Preview and History show the change as Charge tax Yes → No, and Revert puts back each variant's old setting.
  • Variants that already have the value you pick aren't changed.
  • Charge tax isn't available with Products or Collections selected, and Edify still doesn't change tax codes.
  • Status values in the Preview, History, and task details now show as names, such as Active and Draft, instead of lowercase.

# Fix: Partly saved edits can now be reverted, and failure reasons are clearer

  • If Shopify refuses part of a product's edits, for example an option rename, the edits that were already saved now show in History. The product is marked Failed, its reason starts with Only the changes listed here were saved. Shopify rejected the rest:, and Changes lists the saved edits.
  • Revert now undoes those saved edits too. Before, they stayed on the product and weren't listed.
  • A task is marked Failed only when none of its items saved anything. A task with partly saved products stays Completed, so you can revert it, and auto-revert still runs.
  • Failure reasons are now Shopify's message in plain words, such as Option value already exists.
  • You no longer need to run option renames in a task of their own.
  • SKU edits in Variants mode now save, and reverting them works too. Before, they failed.
  • Tasks that ran before this update aren't changed.

See View history and undo an edit and Rename variant options in bulk.

# New: Rename variant option names and values in bulk

  • In Products mode, two new action fields, Option name and Option value, rename options across every matched product with the Rename operation. For example, rename the option Colour to Color, or the value Grey to Gray.
  • Current name and Current value must match the whole name, ignoring case, so renaming Colour leaves Colourway alone.
  • Only in option limits a value rename to one option. Leave it empty to rename the value in every option.
  • Several renames in one task apply in order, from top to bottom.
  • The Preview and History show each rename as old → new, labeled Option name or Option value · Color. Revert puts the old names back.
  • If a product already has the new name, Shopify refuses the rename. Only that product is marked Failed, with Shopify's message, and the rest of the task goes through.
  • New Option name and Option value filters in Products mode use is equal to, is not equal to, contains, and starts with, and ignore case. They can't be combined with OR.
  • In task details, Actions now show the text to find and its replacement for Find and replace and Rename.
  • Not supported yet: adding or removing options, creating variants, and option fields in Variants mode.

See Rename variant options in bulk.

# Fix: Actions on the same field now stack in order

  • Several actions on the same field now apply in order, from top to bottom. Each one starts from the result of the one above it. Before, only the last action on that field was applied.
  • You can discount and round in one task. For example, Price Decrease by % 10 then Price Round price $X.99 turns $25.00 into $22.99. You no longer need to run two tasks.
  • The Preview and History show one line per field, from the original value to the final value, and the badge counts that field once. For Products price edits, that's one line per variant.
  • Reverting the task puts back the original value.
  • If the actions end at the original value, for example Increase by amount 5 then Decrease by amount 5, the item isn't changed.
  • Tasks that ran before this update with two actions on the same field keep one line per action in History, and reverting them may not put back the original value. Check those items after you revert.

# Fix: Set status works on the default Active, and the preview shows every action

  • Set status left on the default Active now sets products to Active. Before, the task showed Completed but changed nothing. You no longer need to pick another status first.
  • The Change product status quick action starts with Active picked, and that's what the task uses.
  • The Preview now includes every action you've filled in, including Set status, Change capitalization, Round price, and Find and replace. Click an item to see its old value → new value.
  • Setting a status a product already has now records no change, instead of a change from ACTIVE to active.
  • An edit action with no value can't be saved anymore, so a task can no longer finish as Completed without changing anything because a value was missing.
  • A Set status task saved before this update with Value left on Active still changes nothing when it runs. Cancel it and schedule it again.

See Change product status in bulk and Preview changes before you apply them.

# Fix: Variants mode filters now match the right variants

  • In Variants mode, Collection is, Collection is not (with AND or OR), and Inventory now pick the right variants. Before, they could match every variant in your store.
  • A Price filter in Variants mode now checks each variant's own price, so the Preview count and the task agree.
  • Price can't be combined with OR in Variants mode. Edify shows: Price filters can't be combined with OR in Variants mode. Switch to AND, or use Products mode. A task saved or scheduled that way fails with 0 edits.
  • In any mode, if Shopify can't apply a filter, a red banner explains why and a task fails with 0 edits. A filter can no longer quietly match your whole store.
  • With Collection is not, View more in the Preview no longer skips items.
  • The Update prices quick action on the Dashboard now opens Products mode with Price picked.

See Choose which products to edit with filters.

# Fix: empty compare-at prices are no longer changed by price math

  • Increase by amount, Decrease by amount, Increase by %, Decrease by %, and Round price now skip variants with no compare-at price, so they stay empty. Before, an empty compare-at price was treated as 0, so Round price could set it to 0.99.
  • A compare-at price of 0 is still changed.
  • Set to value still fills empty compare-at prices, so use it to give variants one.
  • Skipped variants aren't listed in the preview window or in History.

See Bulk edit prices and compare-at prices.

# Fix: Variants preview count now matches the edit

  • In Variants mode, the Preview count now matches the variants listed and the variants the task edits. Before, it could show your store's total number of variants.
  • If nothing matches, it shows 0 matching. If 10,000 or more variants match, the count starts with ~, for example ~10000 matching.

See Preview changes before you apply them.

# Edit prices and compare-at prices from Products mode

  • Price and Compare at price are now in the Field list when Products is selected, not just Variants.
  • A price edit in Products mode applies to every variant of each matched product. Each variant is changed from its own value, so Increase by % 10 raises every variant by 10% of its own price.
  • The preview list shows one row per product with a badge such as 5 changes. Click the product, or open the task in History, to see each variant's change on its own line, for example Price · Small. Revert puts back each variant's old prices.
  • Use Variants when you only want to change specific variants, for example by SKU.

See Bulk edit prices and compare-at prices.

# See old and new values for every edited product in History

  • Open a task in History and scroll to the new Changes section. It lists every product or variant the task touched, with a status badge (Edited, Failed, Reverted, or Pending).
  • Each changed field shows its old value → new value, 20 items per page.
  • Variants now show the product name too, for example Blue Shirt - Small instead of just the variant name. This applies to tasks run from now on. Older tasks keep their old display.

See View history and undo an edit.

# Fix: bulk edits no longer fail when Shopify is busy

  • When Shopify briefly limits requests, Edify now waits and retries instead of failing the task. Items that hit a busy moment are retried instead of being left unedited.
  • If you start two edits at once, the second one shows Pending and waits until the first has found its items, then runs.
  • Collection is not filters no longer let products from the excluded collection through when Shopify is busy.
  • Some older tasks may now show more failed items in Progress. Those items were never edited, and the count is now accurate.

See View history and undo an edit.

# Match products with any condition using OR filters

  • With two or more conditions, click OR at the top of the filter card to match items that meet any of your conditions. AND (the default) still matches items that meet all of them.
  • OR now works in the preview, in View more, and when the task runs, including with Collection is not and is between.
  • Task details in History show AND or OR between the conditions.
  • Edits scheduled before this update run with AND, as they were saved. To use OR, cancel them in History and schedule them again.

See Choose which products to edit with filters.
