New features, improvements, and fixes in Optionize Help Center.

# Fix: complementary products charged the main product's add-on price

  • Adding a complementary or recommended product from the same page used to also attach this product's paid options. A recommended $89 item could land in the cart at $174 if an $85 option was selected.
  • Complementary products, Search & Discovery cards, and other recommended add-to-cart buttons now add only that product. Paid Optionize options stay on the product they belong to.
  • Adding a recommended product is no longer blocked when a required option on the main product is still empty.
  • See How add-ons appear in the cart and at checkout.

# Fix: add-on prices charged wrong in markets with price adjustments

  • If you use Shopify Markets with a price adjustment on a market (for example +50% for one country), add-ons were charged at the unadjusted price. The product page showed the right amount, checkout charged less.
  • Add-ons now follow the market's catalog price, so the amount shown is the amount charged.
  • Shopify's rounding rules for the market are applied too, which fixes foreign-currency add-ons being undercharged by up to about one unit.
  • More on this: Charge add-on prices for options.

# Fix: add-on prices shown wrong in some currency formats

Stores whose currency is written with a space, an apostrophe, or no decimals could see truncated amounts on the product page. A 1 420,72 kr add-on showed as "+1 kr", and the running product total was wrong too.

  • The widget now reads the amounts on your page using your store's own money format, instead of a hardcoded list of currencies.
  • Fixes SEK, JPY, PKR, CHF and any other format that uses a space or apostrophe separator, including per-market currencies under Shopify Markets.
  • The amount charged at checkout was always correct, only the displayed price was affected.
  • Nothing to do on your side, the fix is already live on your storefront.

Add-on price not added to the product price

# Fix: Pro features on transferred development stores

  • Optionize gives Shopify Partner development stores Pro features for free. When one of those stores was transferred to a merchant, it moved to the Free plan, but add-on prices, conditional logic, and widget translations kept rendering on the storefront, sometimes for weeks. They now stop as soon as the transfer is detected.
  • A temporary connection problem with Shopify could also make a development store look like a regular store and switch its Pro features off by mistake. Optionize now leaves the plan untouched and checks again later.

# Fix: Add to cart stopped responding after a blocked click

  • On Impulse, Motion, Streamline, and other themes built on the same framework, a shopper who clicked Add to cart before filling in a required option could leave the button stuck: every click after that did nothing until the page was reloaded.
  • Blocked clicks now stop cleanly. The shopper sees only the option's own inline error, and their next valid click adds the product to the cart with all option values attached.
  • The same fix covers option values that redirect to another product page, which could strand the button in the same way.
  • Nothing to change on your side. The storefront widget updates automatically.
