Plans and pricing
Optionize has two plans: Free and Pro. This article covers what each includes and how billing works. The Pricing page inside the app always shows the exact prices and features for your store.
Free plan
Free forever, no time limit. It includes:
- Unlimited options and option sets
- All 20 option types
- Duplicate option values
- Live preview
- Multi-currency support
- Custom CSS
- Email and chat support
Pro plan
Pro is $9.99 per month with a 7-day free trial, or $89.99 per year (about 25% off, no trial on the yearly plan). It includes everything in Free, plus:
- Add-on price: charge extra for option values
- Product linking: add a linked product to the cart when a value is selected
- Conditional logic: show or hide options based on other answers
- Duplicate options and option sets, and copy options between sets
- Import and export option sets
- Bulk add-on price adjustments with history and revert
- Widget translations
- Priority support
How billing works
Shopify handles the payment side of Optionize. We never see your card details and we never charge you directly.
- Charges go through Shopify and appear on your regular Shopify invoice.
- The monthly plan runs on 30 day cycles, not calendar months. A plan you start on August 1 renews on August 31. The yearly plan runs on 365 day cycles.
- Each cycle is paid at the start, so you are always paying for the period ahead.
- The free trial starts when you pick the Pro monthly plan and lasts 7 days. Cancel within the trial and you won't be charged.
Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel
To upgrade, go to Pricing in the app and pick a plan. To cancel, switch back to Free from the same page.
Switching to Free happens immediately. Pro features stop working right away, and there is no refund for the days left in the cycle, because you have already paid for the full period.
That works in your favor if you change your mind. Resubscribe before the cycle ends and you are not charged twice. Say you subscribe on August 1 and cancel on August 15. Come back on August 25 and you keep Pro for the rest of the cycle at no extra cost. Your next charge is on August 31, when the cycle would have renewed anyway.
Your option sets and their configuration stay intact when you move to Free. The Pro features are simply no longer available.
Moving from the yearly plan to the monthly plan is deferred by Shopify. You stay on yearly until that cycle finishes, and the monthly plan starts after it.
Uninstalling the app cancels the subscription automatically.
