Get started with WiseReviews

Welcome to WiseReviews! In about ten minutes you can have real customer reviews showing on your storefront. This guide walks you through the three setup steps you'll find on the Home page.

After installing the app, open it from your Shopify admin. The Setup guide on the Home page tracks your progress. Steps check themselves off when you finish the work (you cannot mark them by hand):

  • Import reviews completes when you start an import (marketplace URL, CSV, or Chrome extension). It stays done afterward.
  • Install review widgets completes when the WiseReviews app embed is on and at least one widget block is on your published theme. It updates while the app is open, and can reopen if you remove the widgets later.
  • Customize widgets completes when you save widget settings.

Step 1: Import reviews

If you sell products that already have reviews elsewhere (AliExpress, Amazon, Etsy, and more), import them so your store doesn't start empty:

  1. In the Setup guide, click Import reviews.
  2. Pick your product, paste the marketplace product URL, choose your options, and click Import.

Step 2: Install the review widgets

Widgets are what your customers see: the reviews list, star ratings, and featured reviews on your storefront.

  1. In the Setup guide, click Install widgets.
  2. Enable the WiseReviews app embed in your theme, then add the widget blocks where you want them.

Step 3: Customize the widgets

Make the widgets match your theme: colors, layout, texts, and language.

  1. In the Setup guide, click Customize widgets.
  2. Adjust the settings and click Save.

After your first import on Free

If you are on the Free plan and you have imported reviews, Home shows a next-steps card until you dismiss it:

  • Manage your reviews opens the Reviews page so you can reply, feature, or unpublish.
  • Show them on your store takes you to install widgets, or to customize them once they are live (with a Live badge).
  • Import in the app next time appears only if every imported review came from the Chrome extension. It opens the in-app import flow for AliExpress, Etsy, eBay, and more.
  • Unlock more with a paid plan lists paid features and opens Plans.

You can click Dismiss anytime. Paid shops and shops with no imported reviews do not see the card. On Plans, Free shops with imported reviews also see a short banner about keeping those imports working. See Plans and pricing.
