Send emails from your own domain
By default, review requests and other customer emails are sent from our shared email address. On the Plus plan you can send them from your own email address instead, so customers see your brand in their inbox.
Prerequisites
- The Plus plan. See Plans and pricing.
- An email address on your own domain. Free mailbox providers (like Gmail or Yahoo) are not allowed.
- Access to your domain's DNS settings, at whichever provider you manage your domain with (for example GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Cloudflare).
Set up your sender
- In WiseReviews, go to Settings, then under Manage your email address click Manage email address.
- Tick Enable sending using custom email address.
- Enter the Name customers should see as the sender, and your Email address.
- Click Save.
Verify your domain
After saving, a Verify your domain banner appears with a list of DNS records. Adding these records proves you own the domain, so your emails land in inboxes instead of spam.
- Open your domain provider, where you manage your domain's DNS.
- Add each record shown in the banner. Use the copy button next to the Name and Value fields to copy them exactly, and match the record Type (such as TXT or MX).
- Back in WiseReviews, click Check verification. Each record shows Pending until it is confirmed, then switches to Verified.
DNS changes can take a few hours to take effect. If a record still shows Pending, wait a while and click Check verification again.
Until every record is verified, emails keep going out from our default sender. Once your domain is verified, review requests, discount emails, and reply notifications are all sent from your address, and customer replies go straight back to it.
