Add WiseReviews to PageFly, GemPages, Shogun, Replo or a custom template

Use a page builder (PageFly, GemPages, Shogun, Replo) or a theme without a standard product template? You can still place review widgets with plain HTML snippets. No product ID and no Liquid are required on product pages, because the WiseReviews app embed exposes the page product.

1. Turn on the WiseReviews app embed

In the app, go to Settings → Other settings → Install review widgets → Open widget installer (or Home → Setup guide → Install review widgets → Install widgets). Under App embed, click Enable app embed, then save the theme. The widgets do not load without it.

2. Add a code element where you want the widget

  • PageFly: the HTML/Liquid element.
  • GemPages: the Custom Code element (HTML/Liquid).
  • Shogun: the Custom HTML element.
  • Replo: the Custom Code / Liquid component.
  • Theme editor (no builder): Add section → Custom Liquid.

3. Paste a snippet

You can copy both from the installer under Page builder or custom template → Add widgets with a snippet:

  • Product reviews:

  • Star rating:
<wise-star-rating></wise-star-rating>

On a product page, both snippets show that product's reviews automatically.

4. Not on a product page?

To show one product's reviews on a landing page or any other page, add its product ID:

The ID is the number at the end of the product's URL in Shopify admin (Products → open the product).

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing shows: check that the app embed is on in your published theme, then publish the page-builder page.
  • Shows in the live store but not in the builder preview: that is expected. Many builder previews do not run app scripts, so check the live page.
  • Wrong product's reviews: remove data-product-id on product pages, or set it to the right product ID.
