Why do my reviews look like demo or sample data?
There is no Demo reviews or Sample data toggle in WiseReviews. Widget settings do not include a switch that turns demo or sample reviews on or off.
If your storefront reviews look like demo or sample data, it usually means something else is going on. Check these in order.
Unpublished reviews
Only Published reviews appear on your storefront.
- In WiseReviews, open Reviews.
- Filter to the product you are checking.
- Open the Published tab.
If the reviews you expect are under Unpublished, select them and click Publish. See Manage your reviews.
Product picker locked to the wrong product
On product templates, leave the Product picker empty on the Product Reviews and Star Rating blocks. If a specific product is selected, every product page can show that same product's reviews, which often looks like placeholder or demo content.
- In the theme editor, select the Product Reviews or Star Rating block.
- Clear Product if a product is selected.
- Click Save.

No real reviews imported yet
If you have not imported or collected reviews for that product, the widget has nothing real to show. Import from a marketplace URL, the Chrome extension, or CSV first.

Confirm the WiseReviews app embed is Active and the widget blocks are on your live theme. More checks: Review widgets not showing on your store.
