Send review request emails

Ask customers for a review automatically after they buy. WiseReviews schedules an email for each new order and sends it at the time you choose.

Turn on review requests

  1. In WiseReviews, go to Settings, then under Review requests click Go to settings.
  2. Set Send review requests to Enabled. It is off by default.
  3. Choose the Email timing: how long to wait, with preset options from 1 day up to 70 days. The default is 14 days.
  4. Choose what the wait counts from in After: Purchase (when the order is placed) or Fulfillment (when the order is fulfilled).
  5. Adjust the Subject if you like. The default is "What do you think of your purchase?"
  6. Click Save.

Use Send a test email at the top of the page to see exactly what your customers will receive. To change the email's design and content, see Customize the review request email.

How scheduling works

  • Each new order schedules one review request, sent your chosen number of days after purchase or fulfillment.
  • The order needs a customer email address and at least one product that still exists in your store. Cancelled orders and cancelled fulfillments are skipped.
  • The email lists the purchased products and links to their pages on your storefront, where the customer writes the review in your review widget.
  • If you turn Send review requests off, scheduled emails are cancelled as they come due instead of being sent. If you turn it back on before an email's scheduled time, that email still goes out as planned.

Monitor your review requests

Go to Review requests in the top navigation. Each row shows the Customer, the Type (Purchase or Fulfillment), the Status, the Schedule date, and an Order column with a View order button.

Statuses:

  • Scheduled: waiting to be sent.
  • Sent: delivered to the customer.
  • Failed: could not be sent, for example because the email address was invalid.

To cancel specific requests, select them and click Delete.

Monthly limits

Review requests per calendar month by plan: 10 on Free, 5,000 on Standard, and unlimited on Plus. When you reach the limit, new orders stop scheduling requests until the next month. Your usage is shown on the Home page under Review requests. See Plans and pricing.
